  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Salt to taste

For the Crunchwrap Assembly:

  • Large flour tortillas
  • Tostada shells (or tortilla chips)
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced onions
  • Sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • Chopped fresh cilantro
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Queso Sauce:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  2. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to make a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
  4. Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Beef Filling:

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned and crumbled.
  2. Drain excess grease, add taco seasoning, and pour in water. Simmer until the mixture thickens. Set aside.

Step 3: Assemble the Crunchwrap:

  1. Lay out a large flour tortilla on a flat surface.
  2. Spoon a portion of the beef filling onto the center of the tortilla.
  3. Place a tostada shell (or a handful of tortilla chips) on top of the beef.
  4. Spoon a generous amount of queso sauce over the tostada.
  5. Add sour cream, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced onions, jalapeños (if using), and cilantro on top of the queso sauce.
  6. Carefully fold the edges of the tortilla up and around the filling, creating a hexagon shape.
  7. Spray a skillet with cooking spray and place the Crunchwrap, seam side down, in the skillet over medium heat.
  8. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the tortilla is golden brown and crispy.
  9. Repeat the process for the remaining Crunchwraps.
  10. Slice in half and serve immediately.

Optional Tips:

  • Customize the fillings to your liking, adding guacamole, salsa, or additional toppings.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute the ground beef with seasoned black beans or a meat alternative.
  • Use a whole wheat or spinach tortilla for a healthier twist.
  • If you prefer, you can grill the Crunchwrap on a panini press or grill pan for those classic grill marks.

Now you can enjoy the taste of a Crunchwrap Supreme in the comfort of your home. Get creative with the fillings and make it your own!
