Nutella-Filled Croissants Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 1/2 cup Nutella or other chocolate hazelnut spread
- 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry:
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface to smooth out any creases.
- Cut the puff pastry into triangles. You can usually get 6-8 triangles from one sheet.
- Fill the Croissants:
- Place a teaspoon of Nutella at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll up the triangles, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point. Curve the ends slightly to form a crescent shape.
- Egg Wash:
- Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg to give them a glossy finish.
- Bake the Croissants:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and puffed up.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
- Add the Finishing Touches:
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the warm croissants.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Enjoy your Nutella-filled croissants with a caramel drizzle and powdered sugar dusting. They are perfect for a special breakfast treat or a delightful dessert!
