Cheesy Ground Beef and Bell Pepper Skillet
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 bell peppers (red, yellow, green), sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Cook the Ground Beef:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.
- Add Aromatics and Bell Peppers:
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and cook for another 5 minutes, until they begin to soften.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Season the Mixture:
- Add salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried oregano to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add Cheese:
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the beef and pepper mixture.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and reduce the heat to low. Allow the cheese to melt, about 5 minutes.
- Serve:
- Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, remove the skillet from the heat.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
