With its flavorful sauce, tender juicy pork chops, and soothing creamy potatoes, Creamy Pork Chops and Potatoes is the quintessential comfort meal. While nobody knows exactly where this dish came from, it certainly incorporates pork and potatoes, two beloved ingredients in both American and European cuisines. With its velvety texture and rich tastes, this meal is sure to become a go-to for your dinner rotation.

When it comes time to serve, this dish is versatile enough to accommodate a wide range of side dishes. While a crisp garden salad tossed in a tangy vinaigrette provides a welcome contrast to the dish’s heaviness, fresh steamed veggies like carrots or green beans may provide a burst of color and crunch. With a soft dinner roll or a piece of crusty bread, taste seekers may enjoy every last drop. Build a full and fulfilling lunch according to your own preferences by selecting sides.

Chops of pork loin, 6–8 pieces (boneless or with bones)

Peel and slice six russet potatoes.

2 cans of mushroom soup condensed, each holding 10 ounces

Can of evaporated milk, 12-oz.

one and three-quarter cups of water

One package of Lipton onion soup mix or three tablespoons of onion soup base

Garnish with salt and pepper as desired.

Topping with fried onions is totally optional.

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius).

Whip the cream of mushroom soup, evaporated milk, water, onion soup base, and season with salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.

Layer the cut potatoes in a greased casserole dish to provide a substantial foundation.

To get the ideal taste fusion, place the pork chops on top of the potatoes.

Toss the pork chops and potatoes in the creamy soup mixture and coat them evenly. If desired, garnish with fried onions for an extra crunch and taste.

Preheat the oven to 275°F and bake the casserole dish covered for 2–2.5 hours. Take the foil off for the last 30 minutes so the top can brown and crisp up a little.

The flavors will combine more harmoniously if you let the dish cool a little before serving. Not only is this casserole of creamy pork chops and potatoes a great example of the joy and contentment that can be found in classic meals, but it is also very adaptable and goes well with many other kinds of sides. With its warm aroma and delicious flavor, this meal is perfect for any gathering, whether it’s a quiet night in or a festive celebration.
