BACON-WRAPPED CHICKEN WITH BROWN SUGAR GARLIC GLAZE

Indulge in the delightful flavors of this bacon-wrapped chicken, where smokiness, sweetness, and a hint of spice create a mouthwatering experience. Begin with a chicken breast, delicately seasoned with a brown sugar spice mix, wrapped in savory bacon, coated with more of the spice mix, and baked to perfection—resulting in a caramelized exterior and a juicy center.

Despite its elegant appearance, this chicken recipe is surprisingly easy to prepare, making it an excellent choice for entertaining guests or serving family dinner. The dish has proven to be a hit even with discerning eaters.

The magic lies in the well-balanced spice blend, adding a touch of smokiness, sweetness, and subtle spice without overwhelming the chicken. The bacon not only enhances the flavor but also keeps the chicken moist and deliciously flavorful during cooking.

For this recipe, common pantry ingredients are all you need. No special items required. Here’s what you’ll need:

4 Small chicken breasts.

8 Bacon strips.

¼ Cup of brown sugar.

For seasoning, use the following:

1 Tsp of garlic powder.

1½ Tsp of smoked paprika.

1 Tsp of cayenne pepper.

1½ Tsp of onion powder.

½ Tsp of salt.

1 Tsp of freshly ground pepper.

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and freshly ground pepper.

Step 2: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with half of the brown sugar spice mix, ensuring even distribution. Wrap each chicken breast with bacon.

Step 3: To wrap a chicken breast thoroughly, use 2 to 4 pieces of bacon, wrapping tightly without tearing. Start and end with the seam side down for a neat appearance.

Step 4: Arrange bacon-wrapped chicken breasts in a baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar spice mix over the chicken. Bake at 375°F for 25 to 30 minutes, spooning pan drippings over the chicken after 10 minutes.

Step 5: Use a thermometer to check for doneness (165°F at the center). Alternatively, cut the breast; if completely white, it’s done.

Optional Step: After cooking, broil for 2 minutes to crisp up the bacon.

Step 6: Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately. Enjoy this wrapped chicken over mashed potatoes or with your preferred roasted potatoes and vegetables.
