– 2 Tbsp.Of all-purpose flour.

– 2 Cups.Of beef broth.

– 1 Tbsp.Of Worcestershire sauce.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1:

Combine the minced beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt in a large mixing basin.

Step 2:

Mix the ingredients gently until thoroughly combined. To preserve the tenderness of the patties, avoid overmixing. Depending on your preferred size, form the mixture into four or six oval-shaped patties.

Step 3:

Place the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. When the oil is heated, position the hamburger patties in the skillet with care.

Step 4:

Cook the patties for approximately 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until they reach the desired doneness. For well-done or medium-well patties, cook a little longer. Once the hamburger fillets are prepared, place them on a plate and cover them with aluminum foil to keep them toasty.

Step 5:

In the same skillet used to roast the hamburger fillets over medium heat, soften the butter. Add the thinly sliced onions and sauté them, stirring intermittently, for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, or until they are tender and golden brown. The gravy’s robust flavor comes from the caramelization of the shallots.

Step 6:

Sprinkle flour over the caramelized onions and stir constantly for one to two minutes. This serves to eliminate the uncooked flour flavor. Stirring continuously, gradually add the beef bouillon and Worcestershire sauce, avoiding clots. Allow the gravy to simmer and thicken for several minutes, or until the desirable consistency is reached. Season to flavor with salt and black pepper.

Step 7:

Return the cooked hamburger fillets to the pan with the onion gravy, allowing them to absorb the flavorful sauce. Alternatively, the onion gravy can be poured over the hamburger fillets on the serving platter. For a well-rounded meal, serve the hamburger fillets and onion gravy with mashed potatoes, rice, or your preferred side dish, as well as stewed vegetables.
